For my gig economy project I'd interviewed delivery riders. The editor tidied my transcription excerpts without changing any of the participants' words, exactly as asked

They edited my thesis on the history of Welsh mining communities and knew the difference between Welsh place names and anglicised ones. I was well impressed

My grandad used to say measure twice cut once. Same logic, get it proofread before you hand it in. Glad I did

They spotted that I had left a participant's real first name in one of my interview quotes. That could have been a massive ethics problem. So grateful.
